Who can act as my registered agent for a state filing?

The registered agent for a given state can be anyone (except the Company itself) that has a physical address within that state. This can include a founder, officer or employee. The registered agent's address can be the same as the company's business address in that state.

When a company is filing/registering in a state where they have no physical presence, they typically hire a "commercial" registered agent for that state. A company may also choose to hire a "commercial" registered agent in states where they do have a physical presence to simplify state compliance.

Savvi partners with third-parties to provide registered agent services in all 50 states for Savvi clients. Savvi's registered agent services are $99/year/state.
