Purpose:
An employee offer letter sets forth the general terms under which an employee is invited to work for an employer. Among other provisions, it outlines:
1) The employee position and benefits,
2) The employee's supervisor and role, and
2) That employment is "at-will", etc.
An offer letter is typically not structured as an "employment agreement" in that it will not typically include binding contractual terms, such as IP assignment, confidentiality, or non-competition.
